Before You Leave Home

Please label important items where possible, bring warm layers for changing weather, and keep travel directions handy since GPS may be unreliable from Carbondale onwards.

Important note All cabins have beds with mattresses. Please bring blankets, bed sheets, pillows (or if you prefer a sleeping bag), warm clothes and thermals, towels, toiletries including soap, and flashlight. The camp is in the Pocono Mountains and tends to get cold at night and early morning. You may want to bring extra towels, socks, and waterproof shoes, umbrellas / raincoats. There are water filling stations at the campsite. As part of the go-green initiative, we also suggest that you bring your own reusable water-bottle.

Clothing & Wearables

Dress Code RulesModest clothing, suitable for an Ashram, is required at all times. No shorts, short skirts, transparent or tight-fitting clothes are allowed. Ladies (Group 3 and above) and requested to use a scarf to cover their neck and shoulders. Early mornings and evenings can be cold so please come prepared with sweaters and shawls. As children will take part in outdoor play activities, sneakers and comfortable play clothes are encouraged.

Weather can vary during Memorial Day weekend. Please prepare for cool mornings and evenings, possible rain, and walking between program areas.
